2.25 UV Resistance

Follows ISO 4892-3 Cycle1. Applies to models A, B, C, but a single piece from the top section of the enclosure can be used to validate all three models.

The piece of painted molded plastic should have a surface area of at least 3750px2 (10 x 15 cm), cut from a finished top enclosure. The piece under test is to be compared weekly to the rest of the top enclosure, kept as a reference, unexposed. Steps to follow:

The total duration of the UV resistance test is 6 weeks. In order to see the effect of the UV light, weekly reports are needed, with pictures comparing the piece under test to the unexposed one.

Recommended lamp: UVA-340 (type 1a).

The report is to be discussed with QSC’s TD to determine whether changes are necessary to the product.
